I help businesses in Wilmington show up where customers search.
Most websites were never built to be found. I fix that, on Google and inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, and the other AI tools customers are now asking first.
More customers now start their search inside ChatGPT or Perplexity. Google still matters, but if you're missing from either, you're losing calls to whoever shows up instead. More phone calls. More booked appointments. More customers who searched on Google or asked ChatGPT.
You'll get an executive summary with your SEO and AI search scores, an overall grade, the top strengths and critical issues on your site, and the three highest-priority fixes to address first. See sample audit.
The full audit is a detailed multi-page report with deep analysis across the 7 categories, competitor comparisons, and a prioritized fix-list. See example of real audit.
What I do, and what it costs.
Audit.
The starting point is an audit ($750). I run a full pass of your online presence: technical health, structured-data coverage, Google Business Profile setup, Core Web Vitals on real-device data from CrUX, and the site's visibility inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews for queries customers in your space ask. The report comes with a score, a side-by-side against up to three competitors of your choice (or hand picked ones by me), and a punch list ordered by what's worth fixing first. See example of real audit.
Audit + Implementation.
If you want the fixes done too, that's the audit plus implementation ($3,500). Same audit, then I implement the findings: technical issues, schema markup (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage where it applies), Google Business Profile cleanup, citation work on the directories that still move the needle, on-page content updates.
Monthly retainer.
Ongoing work runs on a monthly retainer ($2,000/month, three-month minimum). Three phases: Patch, Build, Protect. Full breakdown below.
Founding program.
To get my first three clients and build a portfolio, I'm offering discounts in exchange for case study rights, a public client listing, a recorded video testimonial conversation, and an honest Google review of your experience:
- Audit + Implementation: $2,100
- Monthly retainer: $1,200/month (locked for six months)
AI voice receptionist.
A 24/7 AI phone receptionist (powered by Retell AI) that takes calls, books appointments, captures lead details, and texts urgent issues to your phone in real time. Trained on your services, hours, pricing, and FAQs. Setup is $100 one-time, then $0.40 per minute of connected call time, billed monthly. No monthly minimum.
For service businesses, 62% of unanswered calls go to a competitor instead, and 85% of callers who reach voicemail never call back.
More on retainer service.
Three phases that overlap. The first happens up front and clears the way. The second starts as soon as the first is mostly settled. The third begins once there's visibility worth defending and never really stops.
Show full breakdown
Phase 1 — Patch. Remove what's blocking you. Technical SEO and AI-visibility cleanup: indexation and crawl issues, schema gaps, Core Web Vitals problems, Google Business Profile setup, NAP citation consistency, and the tracking foundation (GA4, Search Console, call tracking) that makes everything else measurable. Most of this work lives in the first month.
Phase 2 — Build. Add what's missing. New content targeting the queries your customers actually search, schema deployment across your service pages, Google Business Profile optimization at depth, a review-generation workflow, citations on the directories AI tools actually trust, and the local link earning that establishes you as the area authority. This is where new visibility starts compounding.
Phase 3 — Protect. Defend the position. Quarterly content refreshes (Google rewards updated dates; AI engines pull almost exclusively from content updated within the past ten months), competitor monitoring, conversion-rate work on the traffic you're now winning, response to algorithm changes and AI engine shifts, and continued review velocity. The work that keeps the lead you've built.
About.
I'm Jacob Smith, a Cybersecurity major at UNCW. I came to SEO and GEO from the technical side. The same diagnostic discipline that finds vulnerabilities also finds the schema gaps, indexation problems, and Core Web Vitals issues that keep a small business invisible in Google and inside ChatGPT.
My audit is structured like a NIST 800-series control review: a defined set of controls, evaluated one by one, with evidence and a prioritized fix-list. Audit mindset, not sales-pitch mindset.

Common questions.
What makes GEO different from SEO?
SEO is the work of getting your business to show up in traditional search results: Google's blue links, the Map Pack, the local 3-pack. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the newer work of getting your business cited inside the answers that ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Claude generate. The two overlap on schema, citations, and content structure, but AI engines weight signals differently and pull from sources Google doesn't. You need both in 2026.
Will I see results in 30 days?
Some, yes. The first 30 days produce Google Business Profile improvements, technical site fixes, and first map pack movement on long-tail keywords. The big lifts (competitive keyword rankings, AI search citations, full ROI) typically take 90 days to start showing and 6 months to fully compound. Anyone promising faster results is either lying or about to do something that gets your site penalized.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No, and you should be skeptical of anyone who does. Google's own guidance is explicit: "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google. Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a special relationship with Google, or advertise a priority submit to Google."
What I do commit to: every month I'll tell you what I did, why I did it, and what it produced. The numbers I lead with are phone calls and form submissions, not keyword positions.
What happens if it's not working?
Every retainer has 30-day and 90-day check-ins built in. If leading indicators aren't moving by 60 days (impressions trending up, GBP actions live, technical fixes shipped) or attributable calls and form submissions aren't climbing by 90 days, we have an honest conversation about what to change. After the initial three-month period the retainer runs month-to-month. No long-term contract locks you in.
Why hire a consultant instead of doing this myself?
SEO and GEO are doable in theory, but they require time you probably don't have, tools that cost more than my retainer, and ongoing attention to algorithm and AI search changes that happen every month. Most business owners who try to do it themselves spend 5–10 hours a week on it for 6 months, produce middling results, and eventually hire someone anyway. I'd rather you skip that step and have me do it from day one.
Why hire a newer consultant instead of an established agency?
Two honest reasons. First, you get me, not a junior account manager. When you hire most agencies, your day-to-day work is handled by someone less experienced than the person who sold you the deal. With me, you're working directly with the person doing the actual work.
Second, established agencies often have multiple clients in your industry in your city, which means they're mathematically competing against you on behalf of someone else. I work with one business per industry per metro. When you hire me, no competing business in your space can hire me.
How much of my time will this require?
Roughly 30–60 minutes per month from you. Most of it is a single monthly call to review results and approve direction. I'll also occasionally ask for a 20-minute call to interview you on a topic for new content (your industry expertise is what makes content genuinely good, not generic). Beyond that, you're free to run your business. I handle everything else.
What does this cost?
- Audit: $750
- Audit + Implementation: $3,500
- Monthly retainer: $2,000/month, three-month minimum
- AI voice receptionist: $100 setup, then $0.40/minute of connected call time
